Why We Created Pregnancy Smart​

Pregnancy is one of the most meaningful seasons of life, and it can also come with a lot of uncertainty. When it comes to supplements, the options are endless, the promises are loud, and the “why” behind the formulas is rarely clear. Pregnancy Smart was created to change that. We’re a team of practicing OB/GYNs and certified nurse-midwives who set out to build products that expecting moms can truly trust – guided by evidence, clinical experience, and deep respect for both mother and baby.​

Every Pregnancy Smart formula is built with pregnancy in mind – meaning we carefully evaluate ingredients for quality, clinical relevance, and responsible use during pregnancy. Our goal is simple: maximize maternal benefit while minimizing unnecessary fetal exposure. We also hold ourselves to high manufacturing and ingredient standards, including third-party testing for safety and purity, and formulas designed to be free from common allergens and animal-derived ingredients (because “gentle” should still be effective, and “effective” should still be safe.)​

Pregnancy Smart was founded by Dr. Mike Yuzefovich, MD, a board-certified OB/GYN who has cared for pregnant patients for years and saw firsthand how difficult it is to find options that feel both safe and helpful. To raise the bar even higher, we sought input from Maternal-Fetal Medicine (MFM) experts – specialists focused on high-risk pregnancy and fetal development – so our nature-based formulations meet a truly rigorous standard of care. We continuously monitor research, guidelines, and expert insights so our products reflect what we’d recommend to our own patients, and what we’d choose for our own families.​
